Saban Films announced today that they have acquired U.S. distribution rights from Voltage Pictures for true-crime psychological thriller The Haunting of Sharon Tate starring Hilary Duff (see below).
“The Tate Murders remain a horrifying cultural fascination, even nearly 50 years after they occurred,” said Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley. “Hilary is mesmerizing as Sharon Tate; this is a brutal and unsettling story.”
There is currently no word on just when Saban Films plans to release the flick, but we will keep you guys up-to-date as soon as we hear anything. Until then make sure to let us know what you think in the comments section or on Facebook and/or Twitter!
Daniel Farrands (Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, The Haunting in Connecticut) wrote, directed, and produced the film, which co-stars Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls) and Lydia Hearst (Between Worlds). Lucas Jarach and Eric Brenner also produced through Jim Jacobsen’s Skyline Entertainment banner.
The film follows actress Sharon Tate (Duff) in the weeks leading up to her and her unborn child’s murder as she is plagued by visions of her impending death.
