Scream Factory is prepping its Collector’s Edition of John Carpenter’s Starman starring Jeff Bridges, and while the release is still in process, we do have some early details to share with you guys today.
First, the official street date is December 18th for U.S. and Canada territories. Next, the release will come with a slipcover guaranteed for three months after its original release date boasting newly-commissioned artwork (see below) from artist The CRP Group. This art will be front-facing, and the reverse side of the wrap will showcase the original theatrical poster art design.
Extras are still underway and will be announced at a later time in November, but they did let us know that one new feature has been confirmed: an all-new interview with actor Jeff Bridges!
Once again, the national release date is planned for December 18th. However, if you pre-order now for early shipping directly from Screamfactory.com, you will also receive an 18′ x 24″ rolled poster of the newly-commissioned art. Only 500 of them are being produced.
Stay tuned for updates!
When his spacecraft is shot down over Wisconsin, an alien (Jeff Bridges) arrives at the remote cabin of a distraught young widow, Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen) and clones itself into the form of her recently deceased husband. The alien coerces the shell-shocked Jenny to drive him to a pickup point hundreds of miles away, explaining that if he doesn’t meet his mothership in three days, he’ll die. Hot on their trail are government agents, intent on seizing him, dead or alive. En route, Jenny turns from captive to captivate as the alien re-awakens her humanity.
