The Final Destination franchise is one we’ve loved for a very long time around these parts. Jeffrey Reddick‘s smart cat-and-mouse kill-a-thon has been home to some of the horror genre’s best kills over the last 19(!) years, with the last one happening in 2011. Now the series is getting some new blood!
THR reports that New Line is restarting its Final Destination horror franchise, hiring prolific writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (the Saw franchise, “Project Greenlight,” Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) to pen the script.
Plot details for the sixth installment, which is being billed as a re-imagining of the franchise, were not revealed.
Here’s hoping Tony Todd will be back to lend his wonderful voice to the new film and beyond. It just wouldn’t be the same without him! More on this one as it comes!
