We have some truly sad news to share today as multiple outlets have reported the passing of “Riverdale” star Luke Perry at age 52 following a massive stroke last week. Perry was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio, and shot to stardom in the early 1990’s in “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Along with his current role of Fred Andrews in The CW’s “Riverdale,” he also appeared in horror films Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Triangle, Silent Venom, and The Final Storm along with the “Night Visions” anthology series. Other TV projects in which he appeared include “Oz,” “Leverage,” and “Criminal Minds.” He recently filmed a part in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
His representative provided the following statement this morning: “Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
